Job Title:            Account Clerk II (41359)

Job Locations:   City of Virginia Beach – Human Services- Personnel

                             3432 Virginia Beach Blvd., Virginia Beach, VA 23452

Schedule:           Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm

Pay Rate:            $16.08/hourly.

 

Overview:

The City of Virginia Beach Department of Human Services Personnel Unit is seeking a talented Account Clerk II. There is a continued need for DHS Training to maintain and track training to ensure employees are complying.  This position will coordinate with facilitators pertaining to trainings, composing rosters, maintaining the training spreadsheet and calendar to register employees for trainings, ensure trainings and certificates received are filed on a daily basis; oversee the training inbox, answer phone calls and communicate the answer, assist in audits, run overdue DMV and TB reports and keep track of the TB assessments and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Duties:

  • Monitor training email inbox
  • Retrieve training material from various departments and file accordingly.
  • Update quality assurance spreadsheet
  • Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access.
  • Communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
  • Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and conformity with established procedures.
  • Comply with all applicable confidentiality and privacy laws.
  • Assemble a variety of information.
  • Retrieve and enter data into database.
  • Ability to interpret and apply departmental policies and procedures.
  • Schedule staff for training.
  • Send training reminders to scheduled participants.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • High school or GED plus two (2) years’ experience in fields providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, such as clerical accounting or bookkeeping; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to provide two professional references.

 Preferred Experience:

  • Clerical duties involving financial record keeping.
