A. We understand that importance of assigning thoroughly screened employees to client locations. Abacus carefully evaluates the skills, flexibility and background of all employees assigned. We are happy to share details of our candidate vetting process and tailor this screening process to meet specific customer requirements. All employees must successfully complete a criminal background check prior to placement.

Q. Do your customers hire temporary employees on permanently?

A. We offer various employment opportunities. Short-term/seasonal employment is ideal for individuals seeking flexible employment opportunities. Long-term contract employment is ideal for individual seeking to gain experience in a specific industry. Temp-to-perm employment enables our employees and customers to conduct a working interview. If all goes well, permanent employment is a real possibility. Permanent placement is a direct hire opportunity with one of our customers.

Q. Does Abacus offer benefits?

A. There are a wide range of employment benefits available to the Abacus workforce. Benefits include participation in our comprehensive Allstate medical, life and disability plans. Eligibility is easy and our plans are affordable and completely portable. Once your enrollment form is received, your effective date is nearly immediate. Q. How convenient is direct deposit?

A. Enrollment is simple. Complete our direct deposit form and include a voided check.  Once you have submitted your Direct Deposit application processing is complete within two pay periods. This benefit is free to employees and offers the safest, quickest most payment method available.

Q. How does the M&T pay card work?

A. For a variety of reasons some employees do not have bank accounts that would enable them to receive their payment through Direct Deposit.  The next best alternative to Direct Deposit is the M&T Pay Card.  The M&T Pay Card is a Visa-branded debit card that is issued to the employee after application.  Payroll funds are transferred electronically each payday and the employee can use it as an ATM card and withdraw their funds or as a debit card for Point-of-sale purchases.

Q. Can I simply receive a standard pay-check?

A. Of course; though we encourage payment through Direct Deposit of the M&T Pay Card, employees who prefer to receive a paper paycheck may do so.
